Timeline/Sequencer for Images as Planes

Replace the offset function with a full timeline/sequencer in order to sync up clips easier when using images as planes.

I’m using Blender to create a music video and I’m trying to sync up clips of the artist rapping with the song. The frames and offset functions make it difficult to sync the clip with the music. Each performance clip has been sent as a 2-3 second shot and I’m having to go through and sync each one by fiddling with the offset and frames until it matches.

It would be far easier to use a timeline/sequencer to move the clip around. Perhaps a timeline would drive the offset and frames instead of fully replacing it.

This would also help when using any from of cards for adding VFX in Blender

I feel like you should look into a non linear video editor instead of a 3d modeling program. Blender might be great at a lot of things, but its video editor isn't one of those.

Two free fairly competent options for such programs would be DaVinci resolved or Kden live.

But yes, improvements could be made in Blender's video editing capabilities. (Even if my personal opinion is that Blender should mainly focus on what it does best, ie 3D art and animations.)
