Better Naming for Nodes Like Mix or Filter
I'm teaching Blender currently and my student got confused when I sent her screenshots of my compositor node setup and couldn't figure out what teh multiply, add and lens distortion nodes where.
Why not make the nodes so it's named: Mix(Multiply), Mix(Add)?
And also add them in the search function.
I think it would be a nice quality of life feature.

it sounds to me like the teaching method is practical and practice-based, without a technical or theory component. These nodes are ALL math inside the program(of course), but those ones expose the math at the lowest level and let you take full advantage of your knowledge of colors and algorithms.
It's important for any artist using computers to at least have a basic understanding of how images are processed with math. At the very most basic levels, they should understand what blend modes are doing to colors, and that blend modes are basically just doing math on two sets of matrices.
if you're talking about the actual mix node, (and not asking for nodes to be called "mix" or "filter"), well, there's something to be said for calling "mix" "blend". "filter" isn't a node, or eligible for one. it's a set of nodes, most of them black boxes that can't, or shouldn't, be put in the same node.
The menu ascribes the function of the mixing. The thing that could be added to the menu is more mixing varieties, user ones too, ones that had their own sliders outside of fac. Math is blinding to most people, you need to take your time to learn it is hard until you see it. I can imagine it being much harder if you do not have English as your first language. Maybe the menu could add something in the future that is not a function? Hrm, a philosophy question for later....
Why haven't you taught your students how to use the Mix nodes?
