Save animation from view animation window
If you render an animation as an images sequence, to create the final video after rendering you have to import the rendered images into the video editor and then render the video. It would be very helpful and a lot easier if you could save/export your animation in video format directly from the animation player, just like you can save an image from the view render window.

You can render straight to video, In the output tab, under the output drop down, you can select the file format FFmpeg video, and then under that drop down the encoding tab and select the container you want. I personally use quicktime the most as that can be played on mac as well as windows. below encoding in the video drop down I always make sure the video codec is H.264.
One downside to this is that if the rendering gets interrupted, there is no way that I know of to continue from the frame that it stopped at. You would have to start the whole render over again.
