Ghost inappropriate menu choices / consistency

Usually Blender DISAPPEARS inappropriate menu choices (a decision I object to, as it makes the UI hard to navigate -- tldr they should GHOST/disable inappropriate choices), but I've found one situation where they do neither:

in the attached jpg you can see that the CLEAR PARENT (and 2 variations) are visible and enabled in the Object menu, however, this Object does not have a parent.

In the interests of UI consistency I propose that when none of the selected objects have parents, that the CLEAR PARENT (+) menu choices be ghosted/disabled, but NOT disappeared.
