A new idea for rapid modeling.
I'm a Blender beginner, and this is my first time posting an idea here. My idea might be a bit naive, so I hope you can be forgiving. My English isn't very good, and what I'm saying here is translated from Chinese for you to read. Here's my idea: In Blender's sculpting mode, there's already an auto-retopology function, and in the modeling interface, there's the metaball function. Currently, if the distance between two metaballs is a bit far, they will disconnect. I'm wondering if it's possible to add a function or plugin so that the metaballs don't disconnect, and the non-disconnected part in the middle can be filled using the auto-retopology function from sculpting. The density of the retopology can be set by the user. In this way, when the user creates the first metaball, moving the mouse in the viewport will show a preview of the model between the mouse and the previously created metaball. When the user clicks the left mouse button, it means a point is confirmed at that location, and then the user can continue moving the mouse to the next target point. The user can adjust the size of the metaball at any time using the mouse wheel. The entire metaball modeling process ends when the user presses the right mouse button. Of course, it can also be ended or started with keyboard keys instead of mouse operations. This modeling method will greatly improve modeling efficiency, like a "squeezing toothpaste" - style modeling. I don't know if this idea is feasible because I can't write plugins, but I really want to have such a function. Of course, in the "squeezing toothpaste" - style modeling process, other parameters can also be added, such as shape, noise, or styles similar to brushes in the falloff, and so on. I hope this idea won't be laughed at.
