Random offset in Array modifier

It would be useful in a lot of cases to add a slight randomness to an array of objects, for example bricks, tiles, stacks of books, icicles on an eave etc. When you want a mostly uniform duplication but a little real world randomness.Currently the only way to to this type of thing is with particles which is unwieldy at best. It would have to be on a per axis factor for scale and offset. A rotation factor would randomize the local rotation of each mesh, not the actual offset rotation, this way the array would still duplicate uniformly when used with object offset, but the individual copies could be rotated/scaled on their local axis.

This would be really useful, I would love to add an expression there on each slot that would change depending on the count, like an X, instead of a fixed value.

I believe that you've made a duplicate of this proposal . And this probably belongs in the Materials category.

Of course, if I've misread, please elaborate as to how it differs.

Whoops, I did do a search for array proposals , somehow missed that one. However the main point here is the random offset in distance, scale, and rotation. I will remove the material index part.
