Option to disable shape keys normals interpolation

Creating custom normals for anime styled characters is essential, and editing faces normals to replicate shading is a must, but when it comes down to creating shape keys. Shading starts looking awful, because of normals being moved around. Unity has an option to not interpolate shape keys normals, which helps getting models properly shaded and I wish I could achieve similar results just inside blender too.

i dont know, but i wonder if this is possible with geo nodes now maybe??

Don't think so. The thing is that shape keys don't really have to do anything with geo nodes, and the purpose for usage of shape keys here is to capture face expressions of character. I might not know something, but I don't see how this will help with keeping normals on base mesh when it starts moving around from changes in shape keys. And even if it is possible - I really would like a simpler way to do it, and to have it exportable possibly too, since geo nodes are blender specific.
