Object notes.
In object properties, add a drop down toggle text field called "notes". This will simply do nothing, but attach plain text to the object in the side panel. I find my self adding text objects in scenes with a new collection called notes. This just seems super inefficient and messy. Not to mention I am sure this would be wonderfully easy to add.
I'd imagine anybody could really use this... i.e. (product dev) selected object . Note: Possible bevel radius adjustment on front panel. Reconfigure snapping system and run by team. (simply just poles??)

where would the text show up ? floating above the object or as overlay ?
I imagine this would have no effect on the viewport. Just like this:
OP Can use this mockup if needed.
Needs to be multi-line. Maya has had notes on objects (and possibly on every "thing" in the system) since as far back as I can remember.
There is an add-on that adds notes but this is something that really should be built in.
should also be in a seperate window on a second screen
