Save as startup template button
While watching a video about using Blender for 3D printing, I realized that preparing a custom environment (different units, scale, and grid settings) was too much work.
Naturally, you would say, “just save it as the default startup file so whenever you open Blender, it uses that project.” But I use Blender for artistic projects too, so a custom startup file like that is not the best for everything.
That’s when I thought, “why wouldn’t I be able to create a custom startup option?”
I searched on the internet for a few minutes, but nothing about doing this came up. I dug around in the Blender files and voila, the startup.blend files work by folder.
I created a folder and saved my custom startup blend file there with the name “startup,” and it worked perfectly.
Having a button like "Save as a Template" makes sense for this in my opinion.

You could use a python script to do it.
