Right click more functional

If you look at the right click on the viewport without any element selected, it is NOT USEFUL.

My proposal is the following:

Do not Activate Item: Right Click anywhere in the viewport should be equal to Shift+A Command.

Active Item: Context menu according to the properties of the object.

The same happens with Shader Editor and Geometry Nodes.

Also I added in the context menu when I have an active selected object I can add materials. What do you think? UI Proposal@2x-100.jpg

In short: make the contextual menu even more... contextual... Makes sense!

What's your proposal for the large percentage of users who use Right-Click as their default selection mode?

santbg Author

Users with right click for selection does not change, they use it as they have always used it. My proposal focuses on the content of the context menu.

Users with right click for selection:

W = Context Menu

But that context menu if it does not have an <Active Item> or <Active Node> has NO FUNCTIONALITY.

That's why my proposal is that the context menu with right click <No Active Item> is the same as the Shift + A command for users with LMB for selection.

Nothing is eliminated for both users, only the context menu is enhanced to make it more useful and intuitive.

Got it. Thanks for clarifying.
