Select backface without Xray
An option to select backface vertecies or anything in edit mode without the need to go to Xray, it would save tons of time and also it's much nicer to model things without Xray overall, you want to have entire mesh 100% opacity.
It works great in Modo:

Have a nice read. projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/73479
I use Border Occlude add-on for this. Left click and drag selects front faces. Right click and drag toggles x-ray temporarily and selects. I can't live without it.
Requested since forever.. There are even PRs for this collecting dust... projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/109319
It's just sad...
Not trying to sound rude, but how would that work from a users perspective? Without x-ray the user would be blind and thus "random" faces would get selected in most use cases. Take your attached screenshot for a spehere for example, selecting a baclface through the middle right selected face could select either one of eight faces, so in my opinion this just does more harm than good.
It's super intuitive. I'm Modo user for last 15 years but would like to switch completely to Blender. Selecting though compared to Modo is still nightmare. As for how does it work, its just magic. Sometimes you just know where are vertecies or polygons but you need to go into Xray. That's another 2 clicks... In Modo it's bulletproof coz with RMB you select frontfaces and with MMB you select everything with backfaces.
Okay, its another 2 clicks. One for enabling xray and the second one for disabling. But your proposal are involve another mouse button for simply selecting geometry. Thats insane. Im using blender, rizomUV, inkscape, marmoset, unreal engine and other software and im never was requested to use any other mouse button for sleect anything rather than LMB.
Same as in basically every other major 3D software.
