Weight Painting: Settings should be kept for custom brushes

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature request, if it's intentional or not but I'll write it here.

I notice when painting weights, my settings get reset everytime I exit out of the mode to check on poses to then go back into the brush to adjust things. Settings such as auto-normalize in brushes keeps getting turned on.

In addition, I ended up making my own custom brush where I set some other settings I prefer. Such as 'Mix' instead of 'Add' and 'Sphere' project instead of 'Planer'.

However during my weight painting process and exiting in and out of the tab, I come to find specific settings are reset. Such as auto-normalize is on and some settings I specifically want to clone just to keep.

Even if it's not a bug, I find these automatic settings to be troublesome and fighting over some assumtions I've with it.
