Blender Game Engine in Geometry Nodes
Ok, maybe not implement the whole BGE, but it would be great if clickable user input nodes could set input flags in a Geometry Node setup.
Like adding invisible cubes/spheres to the scene at a location that can be clicked enabling a "Choose your own adventure" node tree.

Game related features should be done in another application. Godot, Unity, or whatever people don't hate this week.
Back when the BGE was removed, it was also said that, while no game engines might ever come back, a form of "interactive mode" probably would.

I recall that as well. I hope it is still on the plate.
Right now most of my focus is on the Grease Pencil. I envision a time in Blender to create Manga style interactive novels that can be run full screen. Moving the mouse over a certain "cell" would play that sequence (blinking, talking, fighting...etc). Play background music and sounds too. There would be "next page", "prev page" buttons that could be clicked. All in Blender.
The app stores would have blender_player and compressed blend files could be sold/distributed.
That would require the users to download Blender.
For those interested, I found out that there is an experimental addon called StoryPencil implemented in 3.4. It looks pretty amazing. It uses the VSE which is a better place for what I envisioned rather than using geometry nodes.
How is this related to your proposal?
