Gpu accelerated, realtime HQ physics & fluid using gvdb-voxels & physX
Relatively recently, I stumbled upon github.com/NVIDIA/gvdb-voxels and github.com/NVIDIA/warp with github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks/PhysX I had my eye on gvdb-voxels as a good fast fluid simulator, and physx as a good simulator for tissue/hair/self-mesh colision/softbody.
Please upvote this, many engines have it arleady implemented, but blender stuck with painfuly slow sim & physics! 😞
I think many will confirm, simulations of liquids, smoke, softbody physix, complex clothes take tens of hours just for baking. This is sometimes very annoying, and greatly slows down the workflow, as it takes 2-3 times longer than the final render, and even without taking into account dozens of tweaks of settings at high resolutions. But in most cases, the problem is that even on the latest Ryzen for am4 socket, disposing of almost all of it, such simulations still take a very long time.
I'm a so-so programmer, I tried to integrate gvdb voxels into a blender, but nothing good came of it - eternal memory leaks and crashes in places where they shouldn't be at all. But I will be glad if someone from the community is ready to help integrate / integrate theese features In the current, Blender 3.6.X, or schedule implementation on Blender 4.0
