W Select mode switched to select/last used tool or gizmo on/off toggle
In the default left click select mode, if you have a gizmo tool out (such as the move or transform gizmos), the gizmo can get in the way of selection (not a problem with the clicks being separated in right click select). In other 3d programs, with QWER setting the gizmo, you can quickly turn to select mode, then back to move mode after making your selection, in Blender you only have the option to turn to select mode through the keyboard, and not back to the gizmo without finding it with the mouse again. It's also somewhat inconsistent that it's the only tool that the keyboard shortcut effects the tool bar. I think perhaps changing the W key to toggle between gizmos being shown/hidden, or having it toggle between select mode and the last used mode (rather than cycling between select modes, when a keyboard user is likely just to use b or c keys for the other selections.

May be I did not understand you clear, but Y don`t you make custom shortcuts?
I agree that constant switchable gizmo is nise. But devs know it and may be they'll make it
* @ Vyacheslav * I don't think I can make a shortcut for this. I have it set to right click, which has the gizmos and select separated, so it doesn't need the ability to go into select mode for the gizmo not to get in the way.
I think the default could be better though (most people aren't going to switch it), and the developers seem to be wanting easier and more consistent keys, the w key being the only one that changes which gizmo you're using seems inconsistent.
In max, maya, etc left click being both for selection and gizmos works because you can press q to go into select, and w to go back into move without needing to find move on the screen again, slowing you down. Blender needs a key to switch back if the only reason you went into select was because the gizmo was where you wanted to select something and it got in the way. They don't have to switch what the W key does, if that's not what they want. they could add a keybinding for Ctrl or Alt W to switch to last gizmo since they don't seem to be doing anything.
