Let Us Render Annotations from the VSE

I use Blender’s VSE + Annotations a lot for reviews and feedback. It’s fast, clean, and works great—except you can’t render out the annotations.

Yes, there are workarounds, but they’re clunky and break the flow.

👉 We need a simple option to include annotations in VSE renders—directly. It would make Blender a top-tier review tool. For eg. there could be an Annotation Effect Layer. Blender_VSE_annotation.jpg

Preview > View menu > Sequence Render Animation/Image

Note: this operator uses whichever shading mode is used to display Scene strips (which by default is Solid view but can be changed to Render), whereas an F12 render always uses the Render shading mode.

Other note: I can't help but notice the (premultiplied alpha?) dark anti-aliased edges:
