Premade Node Groups for Simulations (Geometry Nodes)

There should be a premade node for Flame Fluid Fracture Wind ........................etc. in geometry nodes

So, artist don't have create fire, smoke, water, destructions step by step. They can customize that to create the desired result, instead creating everything from beginning. They also inside the node group and costomise. Just like Houdini.

Also allow metaballs in geometry nodes. Because, for creating flip fluid, this is better than icospheres and uv spheres. These can reduce the poly counts, and also it will look more like water, because one shape will blend into other, just like how water does.

Andvages of having premaide node groups:

1.Ease of Use:

2.Time-Saving

3.Consistency

  1. Efficiency

5.Modularity

  1. Community Resources

7.User-Friendly

8.Debugging and Troubleshooting

9.Learning Tool

  1. Support and Updates

  2. Cross-Platform

Elaboration:

Collaboration;

Pre-made node groups facilitate collaboration among developers, as they can easily share and integrate standardized simulation components.

Reduced Learning Curve;

Developers, especially those new to simulations, can get up to speed more quickly by using pre-made node groups as they don't have to create complex simulations from scratch.

Faster Prototyping;

Node groups enable rapid prototyping, allowing developers to iterate on simulations and experiment with different parameters and settings to achieve desired results more quickly.

Error Reduction;

Using pre-made node groups minimizes the risk of errors in simulation setup, leading to more reliable and accurate results.

Cross-Team Compatibility;

In larger development teams, pre-made node groups ensure that different team members can work on various aspects of a project while maintaining consistency in the simulations.

Scalability;

Pre-made node groups are scalable and can be adapted for simulations in projects of varying complexity, from simple to highly intricate.

Project Maintenance;

For long-term projects, pre-made node groups are easier to maintain and update as new requirements or software versions emerge.

Resource Savings;

By reusing node groups, developers save computational resources and memory, which is crucial for resource-intensive simulations.

Documentation;

Many pre-made node groups come with documentation or tutorials, making it easier for developers to understand how to use them effectively.

Community Feedback;

Developers can benefit from community feedback and improvements made by others who have used the same pre-made node groups, leading to enhanced simulation capabilities.

Impact on students:

Accelerated Learning: Pre-made node groups can help students grasp complex simulation concepts more quickly. They can start with pre-made setups and gradually delve into the underlying logic as they become more proficient.

Hands-On Experience: Students can experiment with simulations and see immediate results. This hands-on learning approach reinforces theoretical knowledge and fosters a deeper understanding of how simulations work.

Reduced Frustration: Complex simulations can be frustrating for beginners. Pre-made node groups simplify the process, reducing frustration and making the learning experience more enjoyable.

Efficiency: Students can focus on learning the principles and techniques of simulations without getting bogged down by the technical details of node setup, which can be a hurdle for beginners.

Creative Exploration: By using pre-made node groups, students can allocate more time to creative exploration and experimentation, allowing them to express their artistic and technical ideas effectively.

Consistency: Pre-made node groups ensure that students use best practices and consistent methods for creating simulations, fostering a good foundation for their future work.

Modularity: Students can build a library of simulation assets they can reuse in various projects, promoting a modular workflow that mirrors industry practices.

Documentation and Learning Resources: Pre-made node groups often come with documentation and tutorials that can help students understand how to use them effectively, while also providing valuable insights into simulation design.

Peer Collaboration: Students can collaborate more easily by sharing pre-made node groups, enhancing teamwork and the sharing of knowledge and experience.

Real-World Skills: Learning how to work with pre-made node groups is a valuable real-world skill that can prepare students for industry practices where reusability and efficiency are highly regarded.

Diversity of Simulations: Pre-made node groups allow students to explore a wide range of simulations, from simple to highly complex, helping them gain experience in different scenarios.

Problem Solving: Students can focus on problem-solving aspects of simulations, such as optimizing, tweaking, and customizing pre-made setups to achieve specific outcomes.

I would absolutely love this. I love the capability of geonodes but it is not a “normal” creation tool I’m a visual artist and have trouble with making big nodetrees and mathematical funtions and i dont want to keep bugging people or hire people to do certain things. I already like node packs like ETK from erindale and also the one from higgsas but this would be really nice.

Actually someone has to make a universal geometry node that contain all possibilities of that simulation to implement in native blender otherwise blender will be limited in that aspect of simulation. Also for individual level, you can prepare that geometry node and mark it asset so it can be accesible directly.

But i also upvoted it because starting from scratch each time is also an absurd thing. Actually i think the long term goal of blender "Everthing node" will do so in future releases.

if these idea reaches some influencers who is there in these community, i am sure 100's will come forward. Because most 3d artist goal is to work in film production, and mutual need for most filmmakers.
