Macros for blender

Tittle itself describe the immense possibilities. Few of them may be:

  1. Circular array: a)Add array modifier b) create empty parented to the active object c) scroll wheel to define no of array d) rotate the empty (360/no of the array) to have a perfect circular array.
  2. Add screw modifier with 0 angle and height defined by mouse movement (Extrude modifier).
  3. Apply shade smooth, turn on "auto smooth" with 30 degrees.
  4. Add solidify modifier with even thickness.

5.Add lattice to the selected object and copy the X, Y, Z dimension of the object to fit automatically. 6. Scale the selection to 0 (edit mode) in specific axis.

These action can further defined in the pie menu editor to increase the faster workflow.

* @ xan2622 *, brilliant. I was just wondering if there was something like this available for Blender and now I know. Thank you for sharing the lead.

If you know how to build Blender, macros can be coded quite simple: developer.blender.org/D10063

* @ tintwotin * I agree with you but understand the fact that not everyone is interested in learning the inside coding and syntax of python. I want to implement that macro feature just for sake of convenience and workflow improvement of common creators. Once they know the macro workflow they will get interested in coding too as macros are not that sufficient to replace coding, this is just a intermediate step. Hope you will understand my explanation.

* @ tintwotin * And if you have ever used several other programs you'd know how many powerful things you can do easily with code without having to actually write or understand or even look at any of it.

* @thinsoldier * yes photoshop/excel is a great example, even they are purchased by the industry people in the creative market. Blender should just initiate such thing, thereafter people will start to think in that direction.

* @mrajendra2150 * Maya and probably other 3d programs also have a way of doing it that "looks" like what you'd expect from Blender as well but blender does't have the feature :'(
