Rolling the viewport
i really miss this feature from photoshop and krita youtube.com/watch
here is how it could be nicely implemented with current setup :p
i would really appreciate if this became reality

Wow! I've posted same idea on dev talk: devtalk.blender.org/t/blender-2-8-user-interface-design/505/522
@Michail Soluyanov: honestly, it's very needed for grease pencil. it's the only viewport navigation action that doesn't have clear shortcut or even widget.
Instead of having a new button, there can be a circle around the most right rotation control to roll. Just like the rotate tool gizmo have a white circle around it to roll the object.
Agreed! Very useful, especially for 2D!
Also need this to speed up GP work with my tablet, right now its way to slow and clunky and interrupting the drawing process. For fast 2D drawing precise lines I need to have something that models rotating a scribble block, so I can draw lines optimally out of my arm like its done for high quality lines.
blender.community/c/rightclickselect/8ccbbc/ I've posted it before .. I hope they listen
Why don't You just setup key for view3d.view_roll?
@Pawel Piotrowski: it lacks the fine control and it's still missing the widget in the viewport. Having to tap button multiple times just to rotate the view slows you down a lot and it's clunky if you are using tablet.
@Omgzdenek: i think combining ideas here with camera gizmos and the possibility to add snapping like in Photoshop will be much more user friendly... to have to reach to top 3d view is not intuitive both for mouse and tablet users.....hotkey also could be a quick way but i don't think all people want to use it. here is the task for the Camera's gizmo. developer.blender.org/T57234
the camera will have this widget and more, also you can rotate grease pencil while drawing both in object/edit mode with mirror modifier on.
@zinogg: rolling the grease pencil object is not the solution to this issue. it changes the view yes, but it also changes the rotation of the grease pencil in the world space which means that in case of multiple objects in scene, it destroys the composition. here is video on how it works in photoshop > youtube.com/watch
@Omgzdenek: isn't the point of rolling the canvas just drawing from different angels then reverting back to previous one? also grease pencil is a 2D animation in 3D not like photoshop which is mainly for image painting and editing.. the devs will add this feature in the camera settings so i don't think it's needed in the viewport because also you'll need fast snapping(that's more important) and having this in the top widget is not quick to use.
