Wireframe modifier to work also for single edges.
Currently the wireframe modifier creates wires only for the full faces, but I can imagine amount of things I could achieve with it, if it converts also alone edges to wires. This should be able to turn off from the modifier settings.
I hope in this video has something that lets people understand what kind of benefits this could have to your modeling. I was modeling cobwebs with wireframe modifier and could not produce single strands because of that. With single edge support the process would've been a lot easier:

Absolutely true. I hope this gets recognition. I also use wireframe modifier often. It's a great tool for creating window frames on huge buildings very fast for example.
Isn't this basically what the Skin modifier does?
Okay, it actually did not solve my problem. The skin modifier makes my Blender just crash if I use it for very dense meshes. Wireframe modifier works perfectly.
I agree it's not optimal but I still use Skin Modifier almost in every file I worked on in architectural visualization and never for character prototyping. I use Decimate set to Planar to get rid of the redundant mesh. It's amazing for cables, steel trusses, HVAC systems, fences, Leather lining and so much more I can't remember from the top of my head.
Would you use a wireframe modifier with such feature implemented as I ask'd in proposal? Currently I use skin modifier for character prototyping and for example tree modeling -kind of things.
Well it depends how would it be implemented but I suppose it would have more uses for me. Wireframe modifier is increadibly fast compared to SKin modifier.
