Exporting 360 video with Metadata
Bonjour,
Blender has been making it possible to make 360 renderings and export them with the Video Sequencer for several years. However, for these 360 exports to be recognized by a host like YouTube or a video player like Windows Film&TV, the .mp4 file must have VR metadata. Which can be added with third-party software like Adobe Premiere or Dillon Cower's Spatial Media Metadata Injector. github.com/google/spatial-media/releases/tag/v2.0
Suggestion: Is it possible to add VR options in Blender Output Properties / Metadata? (Monoscopic, Stereoscopic)
4K panoramic renderings on Cycles take a long time to generate. It is best to first generate them in image sequences. We can then export an .mp4 file from the video sequencer. Some applications recognize the 360 format without this metadata. Others like YouTube do not recognize it.
I am not a coder/developer but I am willing to experiment with the development of these export options.
Here is an example of a 360 animation that I made with Blender: youtu.be/DdyBMlvu1KY
