Video Editor standart output shouldn't be image
When creating a scene in a video editor, the scene has a clean template that does not depend on anything. The main problem with this is the output is PNG images (which is strange for a video editor). Setting it up every time is a bit weird, and it will be completely inconvenient for beginners.
Steps for others to reproduce the error:
- Open Blender
- Create a new project (General template), open "Video Editing"
- Create scene in Video Editor
- Open Output Properties
- Observe that the default output format is PNG image sequence
I think it would be good if the default output was as a video with audio.
The Video Editing template scene could default to:
- A video output format
- Audio enabled by default
Attention! Do not confuse "Creating a new scene through Video Editor" and "Creating a new project with Video Editing"! "Creating a new project with Video Editing" already have video output. But not "Creating a new scene through Video Editor".

Creating a new scene in the video sequencer is the same as creating a new scene in the Blender file (or just opening Blender for the first time), so the render settings and output settings return to default. Currently, there are two features that allow for setup ease: saving a default startup file, where render settings are set, and selecting an existing scene (instead of creating a new one) with your existing project settings. Both of these are beginner-friendly.
Of course, if it can be split into separate defaults for creating a new general scene and creating a new sequencer scene, I could see how changing sequencer-initiated scenes to video would be practical.
