Render Graph and everything nodes
Hello, we know that we're gonna have the everything node, the asset manager and the library override, so i was wondering why not having a render/scene management graph ! It should be a new editor to :
- manage the entire scene ( actual geo and linked data)
- assign shaders
- create overrides
- render pass creation
- manage outputs
- automation
So you'll be able to import and export those render graph like node groups, to be use like lookfile, render management and pass and aovs management.
In production you'll be overflowed by a lot of data and you want to easily manage the amount with the less amount of effort. like having just one scene with a master lighting split in child graph.
I know it's a big topic and can easily be split in a multitude of sub-features. For the moment it's just a proposal to see if people are interested about the global idea. ( i won't hide the idea is inspired by Guerilla render, Katana, Gaffer, Clarisse and Houdini as they're used too manage a lot of datas)
PS : the graph is vertical because it's easier for me to mockup but it can be horizontal ! and it's just a quick exemple of what you can do, it can be simple or super complex, it really depends on what your needs are.

This would probably be a nice extension for already existing compositing editor?
* @Yegor R * yeah of course. you can imagine having a master comp, and having comp lookfile that you reference/linked into the child shots. :)
If you're interested in this kind of system you should definitely have a look at Task Operators and Light Operators (TOPs and LOPs) in Houdini too
* @johnedwardcox * oh yes i totally forgot to mention Houdini ^^ with solaris and PDG too it's amazing! i'll edit the post ! thanks ^^

* @Brian Savery * ahah thanks Brian ^^ i've seen the proposal :) i'm looking forward to that !!
