Exluding an object from specified light

Hi, That will be nice to be able to exluding defined objects from a light, like in 3ds Max. We are working on animated series and always using lights that only effects the characters. i hope someone finds it worth to develop:) Best,

I have used this in other software, found it odd to not be able to do this in Blender?

This should be included i would use that in every architecture visualisation that I create

Unreal engine has 3 lighting channels and same channels effecting each others, this is a bit limited but maybe easier to implament in blender,

maeseivol

do it in comp youtube.com/watch

erensaritas Author

* @maeseivol * sure i can do it on comp but i dont want to add any tasks on comp for this issue, cos any other 3d softwares can do it.

This is already a well know issue/feature request.

developer.blender.org/T68915

It's call light linking.

Normaly for these more "obvious" why doesn't Blender have this or that, dev are already aware of it. It's mostly a matter of time, ressource, priority and $$$

Hence the Dev Fund :)

erensaritas Author

* @Francis Jasmin * sure but this issue should be prior, cos its a big need for us. Please support this topic if you agree! :)

IIIFGIII

* @erensaritas * " This feature should be prior " not work. All features should be prior ... I don't use Blender for rendering at all, but I need improves for baking. Everyone need something else.

* @IIIFGIII * you are right, thats why i said " support if you agree". whichever issue gets support, it will take priority, by the way baking improvements would be cool too :)

* @Francis Jasmin * You can't directly fund a feature request... I wish there was a bounty system!

* @Andres Stephens - Trinumedia * True ! Me too, that would be awesome.

I had propose something similar on DevTalk but didn't had any traction.

Would be nive if bounty could be use to hire dev for specific feature.

Maybe I could propose something on RCS although I doubt it could become real.

* @Andres Stephens - Trinumedia * This system of RCS upvote we are using is the one that carries most weight for the developers to take action
