Save render info in images (EXIF)

Blender renders are not unlike traditional photographs. For example, both have exposure and white balance.

I would like for Blender, when possible (i.e. will depend on the file format), to save information about the render to the saved rendered image. This should include at minimum :

  • What render engine was used.
  • How long the render took.
  • Minimum and maximum samples and noise threshold.
  • Exposure (from Color Management; possibly also from Film)
  • Gamma (from Color Management)
  • White Balance Temperature
  • Camera Lens Focal Length
  • Depth of Field (if applicable)

Generally, though, if it can be configured, the more information, the better, up to and including every render setting.

Ideally, Blender should also have a way (e.g. via compositing nodes) for the user to specify scene information to be saved. For example, I would like to also store the values of custom scene properties.

Possible duplicate of this , although that has very little information.
