Overall Copy/Paste with Ctr+C/Ctr+V

Today I tried to copy a part of a material node tree from one open project to another with Ctr+C/Ctr+V. Not possible. I know there is a workaround, but it would be so good to be able to make it like this.

Copy and paste also doesn't work in the Blender File View window, where would also be nice to be able to do some organisation sometimes. Especially when the file I'm working with is at the very end of a complicated directory structure and I want to copy it somewhere else. If I already have Blender file view open, why should I open it in windows explorer? This is possible in every other program but Blender.

I wonder why does Blender not use these standard shortcuts for all selected objects and nodes?

I often get the feeling that developers try to reinvent everything, instead of going the tried and tested way that everyone is used to.

Cheers
