Slow Zooming In and Out with (Shift+Mouse Wheel)

Very often I am working with smaller pieces (millimetre level), and need to zoom in at finer increments, but the normal zoom jumps in and out too much per mouse wheel tick at these levels. There is "Shift+B" to zoom to a specific area, but this is not ideal, in my opinion.

If it is desired, I'd like to open the idea to zoom in and out at a slower pace, very similar to how we can modify edits more slowly while holding Shift + <operation>. I'm not sure why this kind of thing doesn't exist for zooming with the mousewheel, already, but if this is a feature others would also like, I can possibly look into implementing it myself (as a developer).

If anyone sees a reason not to do that, or has a better idea, please speak up.

Analog zoom with ctrl+mmb is the way to go. I'm not even sure why you'd want a "slow" incremental zoom.

* @Stanislav Blinov * Ahh! Cool... thanks. Maybe I forgot about this. Well, why? I clearly said why in the post... working with small objects ;-p Ctrl+MMB is perfect, heh.

* @Stanislav Blinov * Technically, it's not a "zoom", it's a dolly. Zoom = moving the camera lenses. Dolly = moving the camera back & forth. Hence, the zoom has a minimum & maximum, and need to be centered on something constantly.

"Ctrl-Middle Mouse Button" with mouse movement gives you ultra slow zoom.

Not to say a shift scroll feature wouldn't be nice, but just giving you a heads up on on the key combo to already perform this function. :)

* @Timothy Cook * Ahh, forgot about this, thanks. Not a Blender Guru really ;-) ... just 3d printing some small stuff, haha. Ctrl+MMB is nice.
