A more flexible way to add new modifiers to a blender installation.

First of all, I am sorry if I missed something I searched for that but found nothing.

At the moment I am compiling blender with its dependencies just to be able to add a custom modifier to it. May there is a simpler way but Internet says now.

Now the Idea, According to what I read blender has a built in list of modifiers which is hard coded and if you want to add an element you have to mess with a punch of source files and recompile blender. That is a big obstacle to bring in new Ideas.

It would be nice to have have a folder where blender looks on start-up which modifiers are installed. This way it would be easy to add a new one. For compiling the new modifier it would be awesome to have some sort of library to include.

At the moment, blender comes with a fixed number of modifiers. I am sure it would be possible to load the modifiers on start-up not on build time or even load them dynamically with some sort of import function. A am aware that this would require to change some mechanisms of the blender core so the question is, does the blender community wont such a thing and is it worth the effort.

testure

blender ships with a fixed number of modifiers, you cannot add more without modifying the source and rebuilding blender yourself
