Add Inertia For Scrolling

Image

I realize that some people doesn't like it so ask to make it as optional feature.

As you can see on GIF - in UE I can scroll in ordinary way by hold and drag + I can " overscroll " when cursor go out from scrolling area to continue scrolling. But also by quick gesture I can make it scrolling by it self inertially. Not something critically necessary for work but I find it comfortable and after years of working in UE in all other software scrolling without this feature I feels kind of " wooden ".....

As always - thanks for reading. Also you can check my other suggestions .

Yup, I am the one who do not like this. So only optional. I think, this feature is for long deorginized lists and better to learn to keep structure of project. Also good for mobiles and other small screens, when content is not important and easy to catch (images/thumbinals).

If you have looong list and know approximately, where you need to jump — pull the scrollbar. If you work with text lists, it is better to scroll slow to see the content. May be, if there will be color markers for objects/collections in the outliner, this option will be more useful.

* @ Vyacheslav * В'ячеслав .... This suggestion is not about long list/short list/organized/not organized/better to learn and etc. offtop.... Do not try to insult me in such way - it looks stupid.

This suggestion about how can work Scroll . Scroll everywhere - in menu, properties, file manager, side panel, outliner, etc. Just about additional alternative way it can work.

I don't like use scroll bars because it's a tiny line somewhere on side, it good only as visualizer of current position. Much more I like to catch area anywhere and drag to scroll to place I need.

I think this would be nice for tablet use, but I agree with others that it would need to be optional.

* @Scaredyfish * It HAVE TO BE ONLY OPTIONAL. Because all the people and all the tastes are different. And it was first what I written in this suggestion.

I personally hate this but it seems to be a big quality-of-life-improvement for some people. So why not.

I'm personally not a huge fan of inertia when it comes to scrolling because I feel that it is often unpredictable and gets in the way in normal use case scenarios. I understand that you want it to be an optional feature though so as long as it is not on by default or something like that I don't see it as being necessarily a 'bad' addition.
