More flexible render dialogue/render management
I appreciate that this is a much mentioned request.
Whilst a render manager/queue would be an incredibly useful (if not crucial) addition, allowing you to queue up different renders/layers etc - as simple as firs rendering out the 3D render to file, then rendering the compositor as a second render that allows infinitely more flexibility for queuing the renders and amendments.
Currently the renderer is hard-wired to the scene time, but having an ability to selectively render sections or frames without it affecting the main timeline, as implemmented in every other animation/compositing software I use, would be a huge improvement
Allow simple commands for frames or frame rangers like:
Specific individual frames separated by a comma: "101,105,106,112,180"
Set a basic range "100-150" without needing to change the scene time range in the GUI
Render several ranges separated by comma "100-150, 201-250, 800-1200"
A slightly more complex proposition - a checkbox/dialogue to allow the abilliy to render your main file output and then make a duplicate of that main (combined) render in a 'proxy' or lower overhead file frame like JPG - for example, when you render out a multi-layer EXR file for your pipeline, make a copy of the combine output (or whatever you choose) as a simple Jpeg sequence (sub folder) for quick reviews/sharing with clients.
This could fit with the proposition for a separate output path and format for the 'playbast' render
