Field nubbin - represents a collapsed field
Geometry nodes is amazing, but sometimes the node graphs are out of control.
One idea that popped to mind (No - I didn't stand in front of the mirror in the bathroom for 3 hours before I came up with it) is to have the fields collapse down to a little nubbin that hangs off to the left of the node (outside the node) right next to the field. To collapse it down, you can double click the dot. And to re-open the node graph that makes up that field, you can click the nubbin itself or double click the dot again. That way, you can see the overall flow of everything much easier without all the necessary/important but distracting nodes in there. Now, there would be some that might not be considered to be collapsable - for instance - if they have part of the node graph making up that field sending values to another node directly, then perhaps you might not want that one to be collapsed until the refactor it to use a capture attribute or something like that. This same concept would be true for material nodes oc.
