Import Method : Prompt or use shortcut

There is no rule of thumb for how to import an asset. Sometimes you want to link and sometimes append.

The default setting in the Asset Browser is "Follow Preferences" and the default preference is "Append (Reuse Data)".

If instead the default preference was to prompt with a popup when releasing the click & drag, this would make it quicker for those who frequently change method and it would also prevent unintentionally using the wrong setting when we're not paying enough attention.

Alternatively, it could behave more similarly to the Outliner, with text above the cursor when dragging showing modifier keys to chose the import method :

in which case it may be best to have only that and no drop-down menu in order to avoid confusion.

Personally I like the prompt idea because it's consistent with what happens when you drag & drop a blend file from your system's file browser and it seems like the safest solution because the modifier key trick still has a default behavior if you don't press any, meaning you still have to be mindful of your action.
