Light linking for EEVEE NEXT! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

EEVEE NEXT it almost works correctly, but the most important thing is missing - light linking. Mix of light source and shadows gives animations their magic, and since Cycles already has this ability, it would be great to have it in Blender 4.2. will implemented. This will make the entire Blender community very happy!

"goo engine" - piece of shit! becouse based on EEVEE (legacy) and don't support CUDA or Optix render device. So, before giving recommendations or promoting a piece of shit, you should do a little research on the topic

Resorting to aggression is neither constructive nor appropriate in any context.
Instead, we should keep a respectful and informed discussion, and recognize that everyone in the creative community has different needs and ways to do things.

Before dismissing something outright, it's crucial to understand its context and purpose. Have you looked into the rationale behind Goo Engine's design choices? For instance, its reliance on legacy Eevee instead of Eevee Next stems from differing objectives; Goo Engine aims at Non-Photorealistic Rendering (NPR) while Eevee Next focuses on Physically-Based Rendering (PBR). Neither objective is inherently inferior or superior, they simply cater to different needs within the creative community. You can find more insights on this topic here: Goo Engine and the Future of 3D Anime - YouTube . I put it on the part that mentions why Goo Engine would not move to Eevee Next specifically, but you should definitely watch the whole thing if you have any interest in the subject.

Your assertion about Goo Engine not having support for CUDA/Optix render devices is inaccurate. While it's true that Goo Engine doesn't utilize ray tracing acceleration from CUDA/Optix due to its non-ray tracing nature, it does indeed support rendering on CUDA/Optix devices. Much like Eevee. This choice is aligned with the engine's focus on its own rendering paradigm rather than integrating with external ray tracing solutions and Cycles. It's like expecting a motorbike to come with extra tires for a car, it doesn't need it; each serves its purpose within its own scope without necessarily needing components from another. So, while Goo Engine may not utilize CUDA/Optix for ray tracing acceleration, it certainly supports rendering on devices equipped with these technologies.

I came up with the idea to the Blender developers. This site was created for this purpose. I received a positive feedback from the developers and I am very grateful to them for it. I don't understand why every time something is offered here that really improves the blender's capabilities, some haters immediately come out. What the hell are you doing with your unnecessary comments, imposing alternative software? Maybe it's your job to hinder the development of blender? Maybe Maxon or Autodesk is paying you extra for this? I caught you! And in addition. What the hell does some "smart guy" think he can appropriate the achievements of the Blender development team by calling his stolen software "Goo Engine". I basically will not use!

Yes, Maxon and Autodesk are absolutely paying me to suggest using a fork of Blender that has exactly the feature you asked for.

@tik I said it before, no need to be aggressive. People here are just trying to help mentioning this feature exists in a fork. Forks are not illegal, are just as open source as Blender.

You already got an answer from the developers (Jeroen), Light Linking for EEVEE is planned.

sad_mogus
