In edit mode, display the number of hidden faces.

Sometimes you open a file from months ago that you were in the middle of editing the last time you saved it. You tab into edit mode on an object and a handful of faces somewhere disappears and you don't immediately understand why. It turns out you had hidden those faces when you were working on that object months ago.

If the "text info" heads up display included the number of hidden faces it would be more immediately obvious what was happening.
