Accurate manipulations with dimensions

Precise sizing. Why not make more precise, logical size manipulations!? In Blender this is a huge problem, yes there is a program cad, addons... but it seems that this is the tool, the logic that should work out of the box, no? Faced with an elementary problem: Ring D1 - 3.14mm, another 4mm must be squeezed out of it along the X, Y axes in order to get D2 - 3.54mm, the wall thickness of the future cylinder. This cannot be done by extruding an existing ring!! (I didn't find a method to do this) Tried: (ring D1 + E , + )

  • S + 1 (nothing happens)
  • S + 0.4 (the most logical use of the relative size, but no .... it's not even clear where the countdown is from, the size is not correct)
  • S + 3.54 (the same.! With the calculation that is considered from the origin of the point)
  • S + 0 to set the zero point, and subsequently make S + 3.54 (where the points connected in the center of the object, and when the ring is separated, they are connected in a strange way).

My solution was reduced to a solution with a second 3.54mm ring and a bridge connection. But this method is not at all convenient in some situations, you have to work by eye! Please, please... Well, that's not right... Add a function in the settings, viewport (button, checkmark, "precise manipulations") - where the algorithm will act differently, which will help to make manipulations for more accurate modeling, I really love Blender and don't want to learn and switch to other software, at that time, when I know what potential the program has. Lord, this is elementary logic, please fix the simplest manipulations in some way.

Blender desperately needs better precision modeling workflows. For organic stuff, Blender is amazing, but when it comes to precision modeling, it still needs a lot of work... Starting from better snapping...

And also, very important, the ability to make Ngon holes on Ngon polygons, for us Archviz artists...

That's right, and it's a fundamental feature for a program that works with numbers... This is a very important aspect, and it's also an additional segment of users!
