Make it possible to Render Chunks in Eevee

When I wanted to Render my 3D Wallpaper in 15360×8640px, my Computer always freezes.

It would be nice to be able to activate a ,,Render in Chunks" Checkbox and set a Chunk Size in Eevee Render, so I can Render my 15360×8640px large Wallpaper in 7680×4800px large Chunks (7680×4800px is the Second-largest Screen Resolution Standard, according to German Wikipedia , and a Size I could actually render with Eevee).

There should be a built in solution for this. A Python addon could do it for still frames, but not for animation. The only solution with render borders would be to render each chunk as an animation and composite them together.

Even for still frames, you're rendering say, 8 chunks at high resolution. That's 8 images that are mostly alpha, but still large. It wastes memory.

That would be great.

It's technically already possible using render border. But for now, there is no automated & easy to use way to do splited rendering.
The closer you can get is to use the renderborder addon, which allows you to manually set the resolution & position of the border, and animate those values through time to get your different chunks.

Unfortunately, this addon hasn't been ported to 2.8 yet, so it may not work in 2.8 for now.

Renderborder really saved my life awhile back. But I think it is insufficient for this(see my other comment). It's really good for compositing pieces of animation together, without having to re-render the entire scene.
