Remote blender sessions for concurrent editing

It would be nice if two (or more) people could share a blender file live.. either for the purpose of concurrent editing, collaboration, brainstorming or for teaching. Such feature would be particularly useful in the context of AR/VR when a team of people could collaboratively work on a (let’s say) a car design live in the same VR/AR space within a blender session. Such feature could provide the ability to either let the users joining the blender session to be a “independent mode" to work independently on the scene, or the ability to enter a "presentation mode" in which the users focus is drawn to a particular object. The focus could be either exact (each user sees the model via the same camera as the presenter).. or it could be an approximate focus, in which each user’s camera is pointing towards the presented object, but it can be rotated around the object, zoomed out etc (within some flexible/soft limits).

Another application would be for a 3d artist live performance that could 3D paint in AR/VR while other participants could view and walk through the 3D art as it is being created.

Note: I am currently using a white board platform (miro) that allows for concurrent editing of the diagrams (2D app), slide presentation etc by multiple people with an option to grab people’s attention within the same miro session for sake of live presentation.

No doubt developing a feature like this could take some time. I just though of it since in today’s world (covid season and all) with work/collaboration shifting towards online collaboration tools, many apps already provide this kind of concurrent collaboration / presentation feature for various type of content whether it’s text, data (excel), white-boarding (miro, lucid chart, etc). A remote live collaboration platform for 3D is going to happen. We already see examples from VR/AR world showing how designers, architects, engineers can gather (remotely) around a 3D model in the same XR space to work LIVE on some design (currently done via some custom XR application). My question is, why wouldn’t Blender be one of those online, concurrent collaboration platforms for 3D content?

There is the Mixer addon by Ubisoft: gitlab.com/ubisoft-animation-studio/mixer

"Mixer is a Blender addon developed at Ubisoft Animation Studio for Real Time Collaboration in 3D edition. It allows multiple Blender users to work on the same scene at the same time. Thanks to a broadcasting server that is independent from Blender, it is also possible to implement a connection for other 3D editing softwares."

I found another post on the same topic (real time blender editing), btw: blender.community/c/rightclickselect/VPdbbc/
