Texture Paint brush icons -- more info pls

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but it seems that Texture Paint 'brushes' include a color and some other parameters, but the icons don't seem to display much -- AFAICTell, they're all identical. (Is this correct?)

Anyway, seems a big waste of screen space: perhaps the brush icons could convey a lot more info about their settings, starting with color.
