Nondestructive array along a curve

There was an option to make array of objects that maintain original shapes of objects with dupliframes, and we don't have that ability anymore in 2.8. I propose to add that ability to curve modificator to make it affects only origins of the objects but not mesh by itself. Thank you.

Good idea. sometimes you don´t want to distort the objects.

(Reposted as this board won't let me edit my posts just now) It's doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

You are using a curve to distort the mesh of an array.

If you want to do what you're describing Parent cube to curve and set Dupli to Frames on the cube.

This is NOT a problem in Blender - It's doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

You are using a curve to distort the mesh of an array.

If you want to do what you're describing select "Curve" from the array type

I don’t know how useful it is, but there is an addon that allows you to create undistorted arrays along the path: gum.co/curve-array-pro

atm it is possible with duplivertexes. And circular array can be done with empty-rotation

* @ Vyacheslav * Pretty sure the circle is just a proof of concept. Since the proposal is 'along curve' that would imply the ability to non-destructuvely array along arbitrary curves.

One other difference is that with Dupliverts, these are instanced copies of the object and not 'real geometry' that can then have a modifier layered on top, as with the Array modifier.
