a Setting to change Edge thickness (Edge width)

It seems in blender 2.8 and up the only way to increase edge thickness is to incrase UI scale at the same time:

It would be GREAT, however, to be able to increase edge thickness leaving UI intact. Moreover: it would be nice to have a number value, allowing user to choose an optimal setting insead of just 2 predefined: thin and thick.

In addition IT would be also nice, If any human being can override it, in the property editor, at the "Viewport Display" This way we can get thicker lines for bone shapes. So poor animators/riggers would not suffer severe eye damages over the time not seeing those F**n lines.
