Crease export (FBX and Alembic) compatible with other softwares
Hi, at the moment Blender won't be able to export creases to other softwares using FBX and Alembic format.
One of the reasons is because the crease values are not compatible with the other softwares like 3D studio max, Maya or Modo, they use values that go from 0 to 1% or from 0 to 100 and they look similar in the viewport when subdivision surface is applied.

i found that in a bug report that is suported. Than I found it. In the Geometry tab, Export Subdivision Surface do the jub, export creases.
ok then maybe should update the title of the Idea to Support for Crease export with FBX
anyway without a crease set manager / editor in Blender there is little use of Crease workflow on complex models but yeah I upvote this thing
Wierd - According to Maya 2014's specifications , edge crease can have a value from 0 to 7 (Go figure)
I can't locate an FBX Standard specification to show the range for this value in that context, but if Blender's crease range of 0.00 - 1.00 is not being translated correctly in the Exporter, it should be reported as a bug, not a feature request!
* @ammusionist * the feature is to make blender able to export creases values when exporting FBX or Alembic format. At the moment blender won't be able to export creases at all.
Are edge creases supported by FBX at all? (eg. do exportying from 3ds max to maya would transfer edge creases?)
@Pawel Piotrowski No they aren't. it's a big deal for people that use edge creasing in their workflow and want export the model into other softwares.
* @giuseppe * If its not supported by FBX format itself then its beyond Blender devs power to implement that. FBX is maintained by Autodesk.
* @giuseppe * Wait, FBX do support edge reases, but values are wrong? (By factor of 100?)
* @Pawel Piotrowski * fbx and alembic support edge creasing but blender can't export creases when exporting in those formats. First it needs to be supported and second the crease values have to match the ones used by other softwares.
