it would be nice to add support for matching icons and names of force fields in the outliner like those in the shift A force field drop down menue. check mockup, the outliner on the left has the same icon and name for each force field added but outliner on the right has matching icons and names as those present in the shift A force field drop down menue. hope you work on it too. The force fields should be readable.

I'd put this request as done, or at least as in development: currently in 2.91 the name matches the type, while the icon is always the same. I think though that the reason why the icon doesn't change is because in the physics properties you can always change the type of force field.
