Island Dimension Calculation in Shader Nodes
Most of the time PBR texture downloads have the intended dimensions for the downloaded image textures. The current workflow is to find out the size of an island in the 3d viewport, then adjust the scale of the UV map accordingly to fit the image textures accordingly. All of this could be done by the computer- so why not have the computer do it? The shader node I am suggesting would have three inputs. The first input would be the vector input in. The next two inputs would be the target x and y dimensions of the image textures in the unit of measurement the scene is using (inches, feet, meters). The output would be a vector. The node would work by figuring out the dimensions of the given island and scale the vector for that island according based on the inputted target size. This would save some time for many users and make blender more accessible to new users who struggle with sizing ITs the manual way.
