Shrinkwrap Vertex group for target

Shrinkwrap modifier should have a vertex group for target.

  • Target: TargetObject
  • Target Group (optional): a vertex group from TargetObject

This would allow you to only shrink-wrap to parts of the target. My use case are pants which are shrink wrapped tight to a body, but if the legs are posed close to each other, or the knees bend, the shrink-wrapping jumps. The work around is to have several shrinkwrap modifiers and several meshes which they target. However, it would be so much nicer if the shrinkwrap modifier allowed you to choose a vertex group on the target instead of having to rely on several meshes.

I agree that such additional, optional feature, of the Shrinkwrap Modifier, would allow Riggers and Animators to have incredibly more agility and control over the current state of Shrinkwrapping. This should improve Shrinkwrapping to a next level of quality and more accessible possibilities.

Maybe, that "Target Group" feature could also be available for the Shrinkwrap (Bone) Constraint; when the Target Object is a Mesh Object naturally --so it contains Mesh Data, hence a potential Vertex Group to work with.
