RCS: Bring Back Ability To Change Topic Status
What the problem
What if author know that his proposal, posted long time ago, finally implemented or in development. Author have no admin contacts to call him and ask to change this one topic status... as well as, I think, such admin does not want dozens of people have his contact and asking for something every day.
Admin in same time not some god or so - admin can't know that some one proposal out of a thousands, posted few years ago, now IN DEVELOPMENT or DONE . I also miss ability to set ARCHIVED my own topics if they are no more relevant (like those about RCS).
IMO it was wrong decision to stole from authors ability to change status of their own topics - feature was stolen without giving alternative. Manual handling thousands of topics by few people is not alternative...
What proposed
Bring back topic status settings to authors and let people, who check things they are interested in, to change own topics staus if it needed.
To prevent cases eg. when after admin changed status to some ARCHIVED , but then user change it back to OPEN (keep admin dominant status) - add administrative option to LOCK topic status.

This has been fixed last week. The statuses are:
The "Duplicate" status has been removed since it is now possible to mark items as duplicate.
We haven't found the need to force lock of statuses yet, have you noticed people abusing the post status?
I absolutely agree, I bet we can find lots of requests here that were fulfilled and are still marked as open or in progress, keeping high the number of open requests and making the list more time consuming to check.
