Knife curve and circle on the face
I propose feature in knife tool to
- create and knife-in circle from selected vertex centre
- knifing the curve on face (from 2 vertices one can adjust the curve along which to knife)
To visualize the best what I mean: youtu.be/-d9QB-fYL_k
These features would appear when entering the knife mode with K in the options bar.
By default it would be 32 vertex circle but user could define how many # of vertices wants. Circle would snap to other 2 vertices when reached diameter. For curve would be the same so that curve snaps to the vertices of the mesh.
For B2.8

It's not sufficient to post a link to a video of another application and essentially say, "Make it like this." The video seems to show parametric or curve-based editing. Blender's Knife operates on mesh data. Where (in Blender's interface) would user's define the number of vertices in this circle? If the controls are in a widget, what would that widget look like? Provide mock-ups and images that show the workflow you want to see in Blender.
* @Jason van Gumster * I did mock-up for circle. By default it would be 32 vertex circle but user could define how many # of vertices wants. Circle would snap to other 2 verttices when reached diameter. For curve would be the same so that curve snaps to the vertices of the mesh.
But maybe there is better way to do it. When Blender developers see the video, maybe they could give better implementation that this one.
* @soulcycle3 * How might this work with the updated widgets that tools can have in 2.80?
* @Jason van Gumster * I've updated it. Number of vertices could appear as new side bar, left or right. Maybe there is better way to do it.
