add vertex position by uv sample to DATA TRANSFER MODIFIER
I would like to transfer vertex positions from one object to another by sampling both objects in uv space. Objects has non corresponding topology so a shape key is not the way to go in order to solve the problem
in this example object B gets mesh data from object A if object A, vertex 1 has uv coord [0.123, 0.456] and object B, vertex 9 has uv coord [0.123, 0,456] then object B, vertex 9 will get the same position (world or local) as object A, vertex 1.
Vertecies that does not exactly match should be get interpolated positions of surrounding uv's of the source object (object A)
At work I often need to retopologize clothes from marvelous in a "flat" state and the new topology to the "posed" state of the clothes. For now I need to use perverted 3d applications (eg Maya) in order to complete the task. Another solution would be to use the mesh deform modifier in blender, but I have a hard time deforming a flat mesh with another flat mesh, even when using solidify modifier on the source object.

Mesh Data Transfer add-on ( mmemoli.gumroad.com/l/tOKEh ) can do this.
This would be extremely valuable.
Yes, I also think this future is the must have one
This is the main reason I have to keep using Maya... To have this in Blender would be a game changer for all Marvelous Designer and Blender users.
I also would enjoy this feature greatly.
Please add this feature! UV's are a great way to transfer data!
I just put another one in for vertex position (object local or matching absolute world position), but I'll throw in with yours. If we could match vertex positions by topology, we could do so much more in rigging.
As another Marvelous Designer user, this would be super useful.
