Optimisation for Cycles

I just found an alternative version of cycles that compute way faster on cuda than the master one : gumroad.com/l/vkTeQ/66cx403

as the code is open source and seems to work with any new blender version, why not integrate it in master blender version ? as rendering are never fast enough, having a 2x performance improvement on GPU rendering cant be a bad idea, even if it require some changes

hopes it helps

All it takes is for the B foundation and the developer to come to some agreement somehow. Personally I can't wait for a year to have it all available, but considering the number of things that Blender developers will be working on and the numbers of developers working full time on blender; the benefits might come to the users more quickly this way.* @forestgumpovu4 *

* @forestgumpovu4 * But then the question is: when was this stated? ^^

zhixson.xbdi

* @-L0Lock- * Looks like it was posted in Dec 2018, so we can probably expect the improvements to hit around February or March depending on if the improvements conflict at all with Blender's standards.

* @-L0Lock- * I understand it as - each new feature update done by this developer goes to become part of core Blender after year of being in sale. Kind of ongoing process.

But it's just my IMHO.

i have see the "after a year" statement but on a forum, I've also see that this user has submitted many optimisations of cycles that aren't on the track, on the same path of what he sell here. So I think there is something to look closer or talk about
