Eevee preview in sequencer
This seems like a pretty simple one, but I'm really surprised there is no way to switch the preview for "scene," strips to use Eevee for previews. Currently the only option is the default grey render preview.
I use Blender for a lot of simple 2D text animations and such which also use shaders and textures a bunch, so not being able to preview that in the sequencer is a bit strange, and the main reason I try to avoid using Blender's sequencer atm.

Only a dev could tell whether it is actually simple to implement, but IMHO i'm not sure whether it would be a popular option, considering the render time of eevee vs workbench.
Good to note though, the preview follows your render settings on Workbench engine. Which means, if you set it up correctly, you can have textures, DOF, some shadows, ...
Images being worth a thousand words:
Even with fancier workbench, those thumbnails take less than a second to show up.
For render time comparison, here's the above scene in Eevee render preview, after +2min of waiting on the last scene I was still pending for 115 out of 154 shaders to compile, on a high end machine:
Are you familiar with docs.blender.org/manual/en/4.5/editors/video_sequencer/preview/sidebar.html
It allows changing the display for the scene strips from solid to material preview or rendered. It seems this is what you're looking for.
I was trying so hard to find just that! No idea why I never thought to check the N menu for the preview window (or maybe I did and somehow missed it?)
Either way, thanks! Shame it's so slow though. I wonder why only one scene strip takes that long to render when it's realtime in the 3D viewport.
I didn't know about that, it's nice!
Perhaps this proposal should be marked as done then.
