Select similar only on mesh element (linked)

See on the image. In my example there are two mesh elements. Cylinder and cube in one object. Im trying to select all sharp edges only on the cube, but not on the cylinder. In case you have complex mesh with many mesh elements it will be very usefull to select similar only on one element.

My real life example is that I have complex mesh and Im adding uv seams only on sharp edges of specific mesh elements. For this Im using Select Similar to select sharp edges and then adding seams on it. Now it selects all sharp edges on all mesh elements.

On the screenshot there is a proposal of the option as a checkbox
